About the team we are recruiting to

The Surveying currently consists of 3 Surveyors, 1 Surveyor and 1 Junior Area Surveyor. The team are close nit who have regular communication with one another, but individuals are also left to manage and deliver their own workload. The Compliance team consists of 10 members ranging from M&E manager, engineers, technicians, lift engineer and Asbestos management team. On certain projects you will be working closely with these members in delivering building and M&E elements.

What is the job role?

We are looking for an experienced Area Surveyor to join our successful Compliance and Surveying team. The role covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities involving balancing planned and reactive maintenance, along with minor project and condition survey work.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

Your experience should include tendering term contracts which provide many aspects of the services we deliver to manage small to medium projects. You will be providing customers with a professional and effective advisory service, therefore strong interpersonal skills and experience dealing with client facing projects are required. In your role you will be managing, monitoring and controlling your own projects, acting as a client representative.

To apply for this role, you will need to have an appropriate degree or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience in construction/ building management and tender specifications; with a minimum of HND. You must possess a current full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle daily.

Other skills, knowledge and experience which you will be asked to demonstrate include:

  • Project management skills to ensure successful outcomes of projects
  • Able to carry out work of complex nature with minimum supervision and to identify and implement effective solutions to problems using own initiative.
  • To lead, motivate and effectively manage a multi-disciplinary professional and technical team with regard to term contractors
  • Demonstrate well developed inter-personal skills to engage with customers, develop and maintain sound, long-term working relationships.
  • Able to review, develop and improve existing working procedures to achieve high quality standards and provision of services to meet customer needs.
