We are supporting our Master Vendor Agency 'Reed Talent Solutions' with recruitment to a pool of HGV Drivers to support and cover Waste collection opportunities in Coventry.

The roles are direct positions sourced via Reed Talent Solutions Agency and not employed by coventry City Council.

What is the job role?

Under the general direction of the Supervisory Team you will deliver a high quality, safe and responsive customer focused waste service.

To undertake as part of a team, duties connected with the removal of both household and commercial refuse and recycling from a variety of locations and involve a full range of refuse containers, eg. Household bins, plastic sacks, wheeled bins and paladin bins.

You will drive and be responsible for any allocated vehicle operated by Waste Services.

You will be required to drive our fleet vehicles across the city to various locations.  Your role will involve driving waste collection vehicle, this may include a 26 tonne refuse vehicle or similar. This could be as part of a team or as a lone worker depending on the service area.

Who are we looking for?

Applicants for these posts must have the correct LGV Licence Class C (HGV Class II) and valid CPC card and may be subject to an LGV driving assessment as part of the process.

All applicants should be enthusiastic and committed individuals who are looking to make a difference; you will have a good level of interpersonal skills, initiative and will be customer-focused.

Physically fit and able to gain access to large vehicles, walk long distances intermittently, and manoeuvre a full range of refuse containers.

Full, part time and adhoc opportunities available with immediate start on occasions.
