What is the job role?

Come and join us at an exciting time and be part of the Professional Support Service’s journey. We are a team that works with colleagues at all levels across Children’s Services to contribute to positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable Children and Families across the City.

When you join our team, you’ll be working alongside people who are passionate about what they do and determined to make a difference..

This is a full-time position within the Children’s Disability Team  .You will work as part of a team supporting a busy area of work. Your duties will include supporting social workers and team managers  on a day to day basis with a variety of tasks. We are a friendly and supportive team and work in a fast paced environment which is very rewarding, but also means you must be able to prioritise your own workload, multitask a number of conflicting deadlines and cover/support other colleagues.

Duties will include a high volume of finance work, working on a variety of in-house IT systems, dealing with queries both over the telephone and in person, co-ordinating and minuting of complex meetings, producing statistical information and other tasks as appropriate.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in finance work including processing of invoices
  • Has a flexible approach
  • Is a self-starter
  • Has strong organisational skills and the initiative to prioritise their own workload
  • Thrives in a busy and diverse environment
  • Has great attention to detail along with excellent communication skills
