About the team we are recruiting to

The Transformation Team sits within the Housing and Transformation Division at the heart of the Council. We work with services across the organisation to drive large scale change and establish best practice throughout council services. The Council's Transformation Programme is overseen and supported by our Corporate Leadership Team, ensuring that our work always focuses on the key priorities for our city, having the maximum impact in improving services for the people of Coventry and making best use of the resources available to us.

Our team is made up of Project Professionals, recently trained in APM (Association of Project Management) and we use a range of methodologies including Agile and Waterfall to deliver our programmes and projects.

We enjoy working flexibly, paper-light, with a keen eye for digital solutions and a culture that embraces change and creativity.

What is the job role?

We have a full-time and a part-time post (27hours) however there may be flexibility on hours depending on the outcome of the recruitment process.

The role is about supporting change projects that are aligned to our organisational vision for service delivery. Adopting a culture where the customer at the heart of what we do.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:

  • To ensure that project planning, development and activity across allocated projects are co-ordinated so that performance is monitored, and project outcomes and benefits are realised.
  • Work with various stakeholders, to build, maintain and promote effective working relationships.
  • Undertake research, bench-marking, data collection and data analysis activities to support project delivery.
  • Assist with writing reports and the presentation of information to a variety of stakeholders

Who are we looking for?

Do you have a good understanding of project and change management methodologies?

Do you have excellent communication skills and experience of working and building relationships with a variety of stakeholders?

Are you well organised, able to manage priorities effectively and work to deadlines?

Can you analyse information and data and draw conclusions from it?

Depending on the outcome of the recruitment we may also have temporary posts available. For current Coventry City Council employees’ temporary posts may be offered on a secondment basis with the agreement of your current line manager.
