About the team we are recruiting to

The Education Entitlement Service (EES) strives to deliver outstanding services for our customers, predominately the children of Coventry, who may be requiring access to education or alternative education provision. We ensure vulnerable children are appropriately supported; have a voice, that hopefully leads to their high achievement and excellent progress.

The EES is made up of a diverse range of teams all working together to recognise, support and apply innovative solutions to address the growing issues in relation to trying to educate some of our most vulnerable pupils in schools. 

The Hospital Education Service (HES) provides education for pupils from age 4-16 years, some of whom are taught on the Children’s Ward within the local large general hospital; others aged 11-16 years are taught at Whitmore Park Annexe or on home tuition.

What is the job role?

To support teachers in the delivery of the curriculum to pupils of statutory school age on the Children’s Ward in a General Hospital (UHCW) and to support pupils with additional and special needs in overcoming barriers to learning whilst an in-patient.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Hospital Education is looking for a dynamic person to join our dedicated and solution-focused team.  The role is stimulating, engaging and extremely rewarding.

Please note, the salary advertised is full-time salary based on 37-hour working week so will pro-rata accordingly for this role - 25 hours term time only.
