The Horizon Team works with young people who are considered at risk of Child Exploitation, this includes Criminal Exploitation and those at risk of Sexual Exploitation. Horizon is a statutory social work team that consists of
- Social Workers
- Youth Workers
- Children and Families Workers
- A Health Worker; and
- A Police representative
The Horizon Team pride themselves on Multi-Agency working and offer a number of evidence based interventions to support children at risk of exploitation. Caseloads are low within the team to enable intensive interventions to be provided. The Horizon Team support within the Child In Need or Child Protection frameworks. Practitioners in the team have access to high support case supervision including group supervision to ensure you will be fully supported in working with this cohort of children and young people.
What is the job role?
We are currently looking to recruit to a brand new position in our Childrens Help & Protection management team, within Horizon, as Child Exploitation Service Manager.
This is an 18 month fixed term contract in which you can really make a difference and will provide leadership and professional support to Child Exploitation, ensuring that statutory obligations and local performance targets are met on time and within budget.
You will have delegated authority for Child Exploitation Service, driving forward the services improvement, policy implementation, multi-agency plans to ensure as a city exploitation is minimized and ensuring capacity in key areas to support service outcomes, in the context of local and Council priorities.
You will provide clear, visible and motivational leadership, communicating the vision and objectives, to create a high performance culture that drives continual improvement, efficiency savings and high levels of user satisfaction which delivers sustainable outcomes and develop a Child Exploitation Service, which offers a multi-agency response to young people and which delivers good outcomes for children.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an inspirational leader who has the ability to lead a multi-disciplinary service and deliver strategic objectives.
Along with substantial experience in operational management, you will have experience of partnership working and inter-agency collaboration, experience of leading and managing change with the ability to negotiate and deliver change in service delivery and practice.
You will have knowledge of the application of CSCB (Working Together) and Common Assessment framework processes and procedures, knowledge of Exploitation, Adverse Childhood Experiences & quality assurance frameworks and knowledge of relevant research & evidence base for exploitation, youth work and social inclusion practice, policy and programmes.
