About the team we are recruiting to

The Education Entitlement Service (EES) strives to deliver outstanding services for our customers, predominately the children of Coventry, who may be requiring access to education or alternative education provision. We ensure vulnerable children are appropriately supported; have a voice, that hopefully leads to their high achievement and excellent progress.

The EES is made up of a diverse range of teams all working together to recognise, support and apply innovative solutions to address the growing issues in relation to trying to educate some of our most vulnerable pupils in schools. 

Coventry Music Service are the lead provider of Music Education in the city and the Lead Organisation of Coventry Music Education Hub.  Our goal is to deliver an inclusive offer of Music Education across the city as part of the Education Entitlement Service. 

What is the job role?

You will be responsible for the overall administration and financial management of Coventry Music service. Contributing to the development and sustainability of relationships with key organisations, partnerships and stakeholders by providing excellent customer service. 

You will work alongside colleagues that will develop programmes to support Music Hub and Music Service objectives including; building relationships with schools, hub partners and other organisations, assigning and supporting tutors, enabling high-quality music provision, creating and developing progression routes and redefining music education in the city.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has a real passion to develop music education in Coventry. Enabling more children and young people to access high-quality music opportunities across all genres and types of music regardless of their background. The successful candidate will be a good communicator with schools, partners and parents/carers and able to advocate and support music education programmes across the city.  You will be customer-focused and ensure our systems and processes work to enable high-quality delivery of programmes in the most efficient manner.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they have the requisite skills in the Personal Specification - including demonstrating their budgeting and finance skills during the application process. Please identify these skills in the suitability for the role part of the application.

The selection process will be in two parts, if you are shortlisted you will need to complete an excel based data and finance task over 60 minutes on Friday 16th July 2021 - this task will be via email between 10:00am and 11:00am (Please ensure you have a device compatible with accessing Microsoft Excel files). Successful candidates will need to attend an online interview on 21st July 2021 via Microsoft Teams.
